Profile
Over the years, I have regularly been involved in what is often referred to as "service". For example, I have been Chairman of Bruegel's Scientific Council, a Member of the Systemic Risk Council in Denmark and a Member of the Danish Council for Research and Innovation Policy.
Service also involves performance evaluation conducted between individuals of similar status. This takes a variety of forms, such as acting as a referee for journals/books, as a member of a committee assessing a PhD thesis, serving on a council to assess applications for research grants, or serving on a committee assessing applicants for a department position.
Furthermore, I am regularly involved in consultancy projects within the areas of my expertise. Over the years, I have contributed to more than 25 agency and government reports, in many cases outside of Denmark.
For example, I recently served as a consultant to the World Bank on a project about the fiscal policy framework in the Eastern Caribbean Currency Union. I have also consulted the European Commission on how to strike a balance between fiscal rules and market pressure in order to ensure viable public finances in the euro area.
